Wandsworth in 1937
The Geographia street map

A Geographia street map of 1937, from Barnes and Roehampton in the west to Clapham, Stockwell and Streatham in the east, and from the Thames at Putney and Fulham down to Wimbledon Park and Upper Tooting. It shows the area much as it was just before the Second World War: the interwar streets of Southfields and Earlsfield, the sports grounds, and the railway stations marked in red.

The map. Geographia Ltd published street maps and atlases of London between the wars. This one is dated 1937. Main roads are coloured yellow, open spaces green, and railway stations red.

Part of a series. One of a series of maps of the same ground at different dates. See also the Ordnance Survey 25-inch map of the 1860s, before most of this area was built on.
