Wandsworth Common — First Three-Year Report of the Conservators
The Conservators' first three-year report describes a highly satisfactory record: administrative charges averaged only 6 per cent of total expenditure, against a national average in some comparable bodies of 47 per cent. Among the improvements effected by voluntary subscription: formation of three new footways; planting and protection of 300 trees; provision of seats; four carpet-beating sites; restoration of the spring well; filling in of stagnant ponds; and establishment of the Spencer Cricket Ground.
