BUILDING LAND, WANDSWORTH, SURREY
TO BE LETT ON BUILDING LEASES
A SPACIOUS TRACT of LAND, eligibly situated on the West side of Wandsworth East Common, near the high read leading from Wandsworth to Tooting, forming a line of nearly three quarters of a mile, and commanding on one aspect a view of Hampstead, Highgate, and Harrow Hills; and on another a view over Wimbledon Park, with an extensive prospect of the Surrey Hills, Epsom Downs, Streatham, &e.
The whole exhibiting a picturesque scene of the surrounding country, and [?] although only distant five miles, is equal in beauty and salubrity to any within fifty of the metropolis. Persons building upon the property may be accommodated with quantities of pasture land attached to the building [s ite?] upon reasonable terms.
There is excellent brick earth and sand on the Estate, and as the situation is only half a mile from the Thames, and the new Surrey Iron Railway, the[?] building materials may6 be easily conveyed to the promises.

[Three-quarters of a mile is roughly the distance between Burtnwood Lane and West Side - so could be the whole length on which the Burntwood houses, the Potter house etc, were subsequently built. Where exactly was the brick earth and sand? What became the Frying Pan? The great hold [Potter's hole?] south of Heathfield Cottages to what will be the railway- and beyond?) We should be able to find this land on e.g. the C17 Porter map of Allfarthing manor, the late C18 and Milne maps, and then some of the purchasers on the tithe map.]

"Manor Farm" — Allfarthing manor? Where exactly was this? Clearly all the land up to the Common (advertised above).

Valuable FARMING STOCK, Wandsworth common By Mr. WINSTANLEY, On the Premises, the West-side of Wandsworth Common between Upper Tooting and Wandsworth,THIS DAY, the 28th instant, and following day, at Eleven o'clock ALL tbe Valuable LIVE and DEAD FARMING STOCK, implements of husbandry, and other effects, of RICHARD FLEMING, Esq. quitting the Manor farm:
consisting of six ricks of wheat, containing about 200 quarters; two large ditto of oats, one ditto of barley, one ditto of beans, two ditto of well-got meadow, and three ricks of clover hay, containing about 140 loads; ten cart-horses, a famous saddle and chaise mare, a new chaise-cart, two milch cows, 160 sheep and lambs, two waggons, eight carts, ploughs, harrows, Cooke's drill machine, and numerous other articles; also about 250 loads of dung.
To be viewed three days preceding the Sale, Sunday excepted, when Catalogues may be had on the Premises; the Wheatsheaf, Tooting; the Greyhound, Croydon; the Castle, Kingston; the Spread Eagle, Wandsworth, and of Mr. Winstanley, Paternoster-row.
