KENSINGTON RESCUE SERVICE v. CHELSEA RESCUE SERVICE This Civil Defence Football League match, played at Wandsworth Common, proved to be an open game right up to the last minute. Chelsea won the toss and had the advantage of the rather strong wind and the sun, but it was Kensington who scored first when Binding took a pass from Williams and scored with a first-time shot. This lead was held until half-time. In the seems(' half Chelsea attacked strongly and scored, their centre-forward shooting through a crowd of players leaving the goalkeeper Robins unsighted. Just afterwards the Chelsea centre-half scored with , a high shot from 20 yards' rang,e.' The Kensington forwards kept up their attack, and Batt passed for Binding to score. The same player also scored again after good work by Turner and Williams. Kensington finished up winners by 3 goals to 2.
